Let's Go Fly Those Kites!

The children were very excited when the day finally arrived that we could fly our kites.

It was a little cool, but the breeze was just perfect.

The children didn't feel cool for long.

With their boundless energy they just ran and ran and ran!

As you can see they had a ball!

These kites are amazing flyers, so all the children's running efforts are well rewarded.

I do hope that you have had as much fun watching your child playing with their kite as I did.

Off we go back to the warmth of our grade after a fun filled session of running around with our kites.

Weighing it all up in Maths.

This week we have been revisiting our number partners for 10.

We played a wide variety of games, and completed many practical activities.

With each game or activity the children gained a clearer understanding of how the number partners for 10 really work.

Ask your children about some of the games they enjoyed playing.

Ask your children about this activity.

It helps them to see and understand how 2+8 and 8+2 both make 10.

Mass

The children have thoroughly enjoyed their activities with Mass this week.

They discovered that it took care and precision to get those scales to balance.

Their growing skills in team work and co-operation was also a joy to see.

Ethan keeps a keen eye on the scales as Mia slowly adds another block.

The children counted how many units each item weighed, then ordered them from heaviest to lightest.

Look at how carefully Jasmine and Kaitlyn check to see if their scale is balancing.
